AN INDUCED ALBUM

Welcome to An Induced Album! This is an album which you co-write with me through my instructions. The instructions vary in form— some might be easier for people who play an instrument, some can hopefully be done by anyone who sets their mind to it. For me, this project is an exercise in giving up control. Once I put it out there, what happens with it is entirely up to you. There are no ultimate versions of these songs, only infinite versions.

For those of you who don't play instruments or have one on hand, here's some online instruments that might be useful. I haven't tested them all out but the google chrome music lab seemed like it could be good for messing around on & maybe even learning how to play some piano chords (and garageband has a keyboard in it that you can record on using your computer keys)!

If you want to release a song you made through this project, I would love if you could link to the project or acknowledge it in some way. If you want to share what you made with me, maybe hashtag it with #aninducedalbum. I don’t really know what will happen yet, but hopefully I will make some kind of youtube playlist of all the different induced albums/songs that people send in (which I will link to here once that happens!). However, I recommend that if you are going to make an induced album, that you don’t listen to other people’s versions until you are done, because it may limit your vision when you try to make your own.

For the album artwork, just complete the image in whatever way you want.
